Frank continues with ongoing education and volunteers in support of improved integrated health care for all.



Continued Education

Education in a variety of forms has proven critical towards the evolution of Frank's solid expertise.   These include:

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation; includes 60 Program Development Units (PDUs) every three years

Variety of courses as related to positions throughout the career (i.e. Project Mngt., Applications, Software development tools, etc.)


Attend renowned related conferences and self education through a variety of media, especially as per association memberships 



Industry Related Volunteerism

Frank believes in the importance of contributing to the health care community through industry related organizations.  This has also resulted in personal growth through lessons learned.  

These organizations include:

Ontario Hospital Management Information Systems Association (OHMISA); Frank was an active member and eventually presided as President from April 1996 to April 1999 

Ontario Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS);  In working with the executive team, Frank led OHMISA to become the first and only Canadian chapter of HIMSS by April 1999


Provided senior consultative support on the Program Committee for the COACH –
Canada’s Health Informatics Association 2003 e-Health conference (now Digital Health Canada)

Canada Health Infoway (CHI), contributing member of the original working groups involved in creating their first Electronic Health Records (EHR) blueprint


Smart Systems for Health Agency (SSHA); Fulfilled a 2 year term as board member in setting up this Ontario provincial government agency


Provided senior contributions as member of the provincial e-Health planning forums


Worked within a small group including the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) to organize a half-day session regarding the Integrated Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiative of HIMSS and the Radiology Society of North America (RSNA).  This included coordination and involvement with Canada Health Infoway


Technation (previously Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC)); Completed term as board member of the Heatlh division of this vendor organization.  Continues to volunteer as needed on the Health Advocacy Committee.
